Animal shenanigans: Rainy days

We spotted this chubby-looking hen one rainy day along the trail. But she’s holding a fluffy surprise under those warm feathers.

“Hey, is it still cold and wet outside?”

“I don’t know. Go find out for yourself.”

“Okay, okay, here I go.”

“It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s…”

“…cold and wet and gross! Retreat!”

“How was it?”

“It’s bad outside, guys. Good thing it’s still nice and warm in here.”

Mom: “You’re welcome, little chickies.”

Sometimes being mom is a thankless job.
